Anu is a member of the Rotary Club of Dhanbad. She joined Rotary in in 2002 and has served Rotary for more than 20 years. She did her earlier schooling from Mt Carmel School, Dhanbad and later graduated in Bsc Home Science from Chandigarh and went on to complete her Diploma in Interior Design. Currently, she enjoys the classification: Restaurateur.
Over the years, Anu has headed various Club Committees, was club Secretary in 2009-10, Club President in 2011-12 & Club Trainer in 2013-14.
As President of the club, the club became a 100% PHF Club contributing $ 6800, and membership increased by 10%.
At the District Level she is currently the District Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Chair 2022-25. Previously she has been Chair, Woman in Rotary (2003-04, 2018-19 (Regional)), Chair, Family of Rotary (2004-05, 2009-10), Editor, GML (2005-06, 2014-15, 2020-21), District Youth Exchange Chair (2006-07), District Literacy Resource Group Coordinator (2007-08), Chair, Women’s Entrepreneurship Development (2008-09), Zonal Trainer, Zone XVII (2015-16), District International Service Chair (2016-17), Co-Chair, On to Convention Committee (2017-18), Chair, Thrust Area – Basic Education & Literacy (2019-20).
She was Assistant Governor in 2013-14.
At RI Level, she has been a Trainer at GETS/GNTS: 2012, 2021, 2022 and Partner Training Leader at the 2021 & 2022 International Assembly.
Over the years, Anu has been involved in Jeevan Jyoti School for the Mentally & Physically Challenged, Hosting GSE team member, NID team members & Youth Exchange students, Saheli, Vocational Training Centers for Women, Gerry Powell Jaipur Limb Center, RYLA (as organizer & faculty), Health Check-up Camps and in Fund Raising activities – Movie Shows, Carnival, Diwali Dhamaka & Fun Car Rally.

She has attended more that 20 PETS/SETS/DTT & District Assemblies and more than 30 District Conferences. She has also attended the Bangkok, Seoul & Hamburg Convention and the two online conventions.
Anu Runs the 17 Degrees restaurants at Dhanbad & Patna, The Other Side restaurant and bar & the Seventeen Degrees Baking Company. The Seventeen Degrees restaurant has won the Dainik Jagran Best Restaurant Award of Dhanbad in 2008-09.
She has been the Past President (1992-93 & 2000-01), Inner Wheel Club of Dhanbad and is a member of Arunima, organization for Achieving Women Entrepreneurs.
Married to PDG Sandeep Narang, DG 2002-03 – he is currently RPIC 2022-25 Zone 6 and has been bestowed with the ‘Service Above Self’ Award. The couple are blessed with two sons, Savya, an Engineer from MIT, Manipal is an Associate Creative Director in Mumbai and Arav, (a Rotary Youth Exchange Alumni to Alaska) a freelance Ad-film Director.
Anu is a trained Bharat Natyam dancer. She enjoys knitting, doodling, travelling, cooking & trekking.
